The VA provides a full range of mental health services at no cost for service-connected conditions. Many services are available even without VA enrollment.

The VA offers a full continuum of SUD treatment including detox, residential rehabilitation, outpatient programs, and long-term recovery support.

The VA provides FDA-approved medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders combined with counseling and behavioral therapies.
Your SUD treatment records have extra privacy protections under federal law. This means your SUD records cannot be shared without your specific written consent.

VA caregiver programs offer different levels of education, support, and services. PCAFC stipends and related benefits require VA approval of both the eligible veteran or service member and the family caregiver.

PCAFC may provide enhanced clinical support and certain caregiver benefits when VA finds that both participants meet all current program requirements.
